HOPE 150 is spreading God's love through kindness!
We want to keep you updated on how FCC is living into our Hope 150 Transformation Process. Each week we will provide updates on the three areas of transformation laid out in our future story. They are: meal sharing, community connections and sharing facilities.
Weekly Update on HOPE 150 - June 10, 2018
Meal Sharing – Hosts have been presented with their Traveling Tablecloths and are currently scheduling the first meal for their groups.
Community Connections – HOPE 150 members, representing FCC, went to Crockett Intermediate School to present certificates, “Be Kind” bracelets and Kindness coins to a group of students whose Future Problem Solving projects showed extraordinary kindness to a special group of their peers who learn and participate in school differently from other students.
Sharing Facilities – An interest group is meeting with Jason Macchia, Director of the Boys and Girls Club, to begin the planning for a community garden on FCC grounds.
In April of 2017 First Christian Church began a journey with HOPE Partnership to help us dream about our future and who God is calling us to be in the Paris community and beyond. After two all-church retreats, several church members were selected for our local HOPE team. They were tasked with developing a plan, a vision, for who we might become over the next 5 years or so. On October 15, 2017, the HOPE team revealed their big idea to the congregation. Hear a recording of that reveal above!
