About FCC Paris
Welcome to First Christian Church, where we have been dedicated to serving the Paris community and furthering the Kingdom through mission, witness, and service since 1868. Our congregation is affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).
Our Mission:
•We exist to love God and love others. Within our church family, we see our mission as glorifying God by encouraging all people to pursue a lifelong, growing, and joyous relationship with Jesus Christ.
Our Purpose:
•Growing Disciples.
Our Beliefs:
•We believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the Living God, and the one and only Savior of the world.
•We believe there is one God existing in three persons: God the Father, His only son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit.
•We believe the Bible is the inspired, authoritative word of God.
Our Practices:
•We celebrate the Lord’s Supper weekly. All who profess Jesus is the Christ are welcome at the table.
•We celebrate Believer’s Baptism.
•We celebrate each person’s walk of faith with God and encourage everyone to grow in their daily walk with Jesus Christ, through prayer and study of scripture.
Our Governance:
•We are a congregationally governed Church. Led first and foremost by the Holy Spirit, guided spiritually by elected elders, and governed by a representative administrative board.
