Director of Family Ministry
Director of Family Ministry
Part-time: 20-30 hours per week, time will vary depending upon Church activities.
Reports to: Senior Minister
Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s or higher preferred. Experience working in children’s and youth ministry of great benefit.
Summary
The Director of Family Ministry is responsible for leading and overseeing all ministries provided for Nursery- 12th grade, and their families. The Director of Family Ministry will work to build and sustain an environment that attracts and disciples Families, Children, and Youth.

Basic Qualifications

Demonstrate calling to ministry, showing a passion for evangelism and outreach, both personally and at the ministry level.

Demonstrate strong communication skills and a desire by actions to be active in the church and in community outreach.
-
Leadership, organizational, and administrative skills necessary but not sufficient; love, patience, kindness, and prayer always in demand to work with both youth and parents.

Demonstrate ability to teach and train young persons about the word of God, and have a saving and growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

Be a role model for youth in following a Christ-like lifestyle, and in sharing the Good News.

Job Responsibilities

Responsible for all Children, Youth and Family programing. Including weekly meetings during the school year.

Provide additional opportunities for children and youth to experience fellowship, evangelism, discipleship, worship and mission during the summer and beyond regular weekly meetings.

Help plan, promote, and oversee special events such as

Vacation Bible School

Family-Centered Community Outreach

Youth Mission Trips
-
Children’s Christmas Play
-
Fundraising Events
-
-
Maintain contact with students and parents, keeping them informed of ongoing activities. Encourage parent involvement in and support of activities.

Network with Children, Youth and their families on Sunday mornings.

Participate in the Worship service as requested by the Senior Minister.

Make and maintain positive relationships with leaders in the community, especially those of schools and youth organizations.

Participate in monthly staff meetings.
-
Equip Children, Youth, and their families to make disciples and engage in the transforming work of Christ in our community and world.

Other duties as required or assigned by the Board and Senior Minister.
